When we first decided to move to New Zealand, I really wasn’t anticipating to fall in love with the capital. After all, I was coming here for crystal clear lakes, for nature, for Middle Earth, not some city. This is exactly where the magic lies with Welly, although it’s a world capital, it also feels like it is one of the South Pacific’s best-kept secrets!

This weekend we decided to relax and just drive downtown for some shopping and brunch. We ended up sipping our latte by Clyde Quay, a picturesque marina just a 5 minute walk from the city centre. What stories it could tell, having been transformed into a malaria hospital during World War II.

We stumbled on this cool, open air, little cafe while wandering along the waterfront and we just loved it. Right on the quay, with all its doors open to the warm autumnal afternoon. What did you get up to this weekend?
